Mississippi Regional Recycling Cooperative Grants Program

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has released a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) soliciting grant proposals from municipalities, counties, regional or local solid waste management authorities, local government recycling cooperatives, local government solid waste districts and/or other multi-county/municipal organizations for the establishment of new cooperative recycling systems and/or the improvement or expansion of existing cooperative recycling systems to encourage and increase recycling in the State of Mississippi. The total amount of funds available in this solicitation is $1,000,000 with a maximum single award limited to $400,000. Eligible regional recycling cooperative projects and activities conducted by applicant(s) include the collection, processing and marketing of recyclables. Applications will be received by MDEQ until 5:00 p.m. CST, Friday, December 6, 2013. Grant applications received after this deadline will not be considered for funding in this funding cycle.
